Department of Public Works and Highways is the executive department of the Philippine government to provide effective standard specifications in the implementation of various infrastructure projects. Hence, the manufacturing and installation of gabions and mattresses in flood control projects must conform to the “DPWH Standard Specification for Gabions and Mattresses, Item 1714”.

Below are the standard sizes of gabions and mattresses we are manufacturing for the Philippines, which can meet or exceed the requirement of the above standard.

Gabions
Material: heavily galvanized steel wire*
Mesh opening: 83 x 114 mm
Body wire: 3.05 mm
Selvedge wire: 3.80 mm
Tying wire: 2.20 mm
Sizes: 2 x 1 x 1 m, 3 x 1 x 1 m, 4 x 1 x 1 m, 3 x 1 x 0.5 m

Mattresses
Material: heavily galvanized steel wire*
Mesh opening: 64 x 83 mm
Body wire: 2.20 mm
Selvedge wire: 2.70 mm
Tying wire: 2.20 mm
Sizes: 4 x 2 x 0.3 m, 6 x 2 x 0.3 m

Note: a 0.5mm PVC coating is an alternative.
